Dubai: Dubai Police has launched the 'Woman and Child Traffic Safety' initiative in Dubai social neighbourhood majalis across Dubai to raise awareness and educate women and children about traffic rules, regulations, and laws. 

The initiative also aims to improve their compliance levels and foster safer practices within the community.

His Excellency Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, has confirmed that the Traffic Awareness Department at the General Department of Traffic has launched the 'Woman and Child Traffic Safety' initiative in social neighbourhood majalis located in the Al Khawaneej, Al Rashidiya, and Um Suqeim areas. He pointed out that the initiative focuses on educating residents about the essential elements of traffic safety, including compliance with regulations, preventive measures for road users, potential risks associated with road usage, and the consequences of dangerous violations.

Major General Al Mazrouei further highlighted that the initiative emphasizes the importance of inculcating traffic awareness, ensuring the availability of safety measures, and adhering to traffic rules and regulations to prevent accidents and their severe consequences. He also indicated that the initiative incorporates the latest technologies utilized in monitoring traffic violations, directly reducing traffic accidents and related fatalities.

He also mentioned that the traffic safety procedures covered several key factors contributing to traffic accidents, such as non-compliance with speed limits, lack of concentration while driving, disregard for the rights of other road users, and failure to adhere to traffic laws and regulations aimed at safeguarding the well-being of the community. Additionally, he added that the initiative incorporated traffic competitions that provided road users with valuable tips and guidance.

Major General Al Mazrouei commended the working team of the 'Woman and Child Traffic Safety' initiative for their efforts and dedication in promoting traffic safety. He emphasized the significance of their contributions in creating a safer road environment.
