122 Cycling Enthusiasts and Professionals compete in Dubai Police 'Positive Spirit' Race

Dubai: Dubai Police, represented by the Officers Club Department and the Positive Spirit Council, honored the winners of the 'Positive Spirit' cycling race for professionals, which saw the participation of 122 competitors, including 92 men and 30 women.

The sports event was held at the Dubai Police Officers Club under the patronage of His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police.

Major Adel Mohammed Hassan, Director of Projects Development at the Officers Club, and Fatima Buhajeer, Chairperson of the Positive Spirit Council, presented awards to the competition winners. In the men's category, Francesco Bettini from Italy claimed first place with a time of 6 minutes and 40.120 seconds, while Jacob Reales from Belgium took second place with a time of 6 minutes and 40.183 seconds, and Ali Labeeb from Iran finished third with a time of 6 minutes and 40.907 seconds.

In the women's category, Olivia Palisait from Lithuania claimed first place with a time of 6 minutes and 36.560 seconds, Tatiana Yashchenko from Ukraine took second with a time of 6 minutes and 36.407 seconds, and Renata Sultanova from Kazakhstan finished third with a time of 6 minutes and 37.407 seconds.

Both races showcased intense competition through the 'criterium' elimination round format, culminating in the final rounds.

Maj. Adel Mohammed Hassan commended the intense competition in the 'Positive Spirit' cycling race for professionals, highlighting that the event, which included athletes from various nationalities, reflects community engagement in fostering a healthy and united sports culture, aligning with the accompanying activities of the eighth edition of the Dubai Fitness Challenge which launched by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai. 

Meanwhile, Fatima Buhajeer highlighted that the 'Positive Spirit' cycling race for professionals is one of the initiatives organized by the Officers Club in cooperation with the Positive Spirit Council aimed at promoting the values of cooperation and positivity while encouraging a balanced lifestyle that integrates sports and healthy nutrition. She commended the efforts of everyone who contributed to the race’s success.
