Dubai Police congratulate Schools on New Academic Year

Dubai: The Dubai Police congratulates the Ministry of Education, students, teachers, administrative and faculty members, and parents at the beginning of the new academic year, wishing them a remarkable start that aligns perfectly with the vision of our wise leadership.
This occurred during the visit of His Excellency Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Acting Assistant Commandant for Operations Affairs in Dubai Police, to the Al Ittihad Private School Jumeirah as part of the 'Accident-Free Day' initiative, which aims to ensure that the first day of the new academic year remains free from any traffic accidents, which the participation of the Khalid Magazine
Vision
Maj. Gen. Al Mazrouei emphasized that the 'Accident-Free Day' initiative, launched this month, as a part of the ongoing efforts to enhance traffic safety in alignment with the vision of the Ministry of Interior.
He added, "This community-based awareness initiative coincides with the beginning of the academic year, where traffic education is intensified to encourage active public participation in promoting road safety." He further confirmed the remarkable success achieved by the initiative over the past years.
Traffic Flow
Maj. Gen. Al Mazrouei confirmed the Dubai Police's commitment to maintaining smooth traffic movement in school zones through intensified patrols. He added, "Furthermore, educational lectures will be conducted in schools throughout the academic year, reinforcing awareness and promoting road safety."
Maj. Gen. Al Mazrouei highlighted that the plan included awareness programs for school bus drivers, educating them on essential precautions for safely transporting students. “Additionally, it involves training school security guards in traffic management to help regulate traffic at school gates and ensure the safety of students as they board and exit vehicles,” he continued.
Student Involvement
Furthermore, he noted that the General Traffic Department aimed to engage students in awareness initiatives by training them to assist with traffic management during peak hours. “This effort included organizing educational programs and competitions throughout the year, as well as creating miniature traffic villages to teach young people about traffic safety from an early age,” Maj. Gen. Al Mazrouei added.
Role Models
Maj. Gen. Al Mazrouei encouraged students to prioritize their education, urging them to be role models for their peers and sources of pride for their families. He stressed the need to put in greater effort to reach their goals. Additionally, he mentioned that Dubai Police will increase patrols around schools to ensure smooth traffic flow and will organize awareness lectures in collaboration with educational entities throughout the academic year.
Active Communication
At the end of his visit, Maj. Gen. Al Mazrouei met with faculty members and toured numerous classrooms, where he communicated and actively engaged with the students. Officer Mansour, the Dubai Police mascot, also participated in the event by distributing gifts to the students.
Safe Start
Meanwhile, Brigadier Juma bin Suwaidan, Acting Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, visited the 2nd of December School in the Al Twar area as part of the 'Accident-Free Day' initiative.
During his visit, he congratulated the students, teachers, and parents, wishing them all great success and remarkable achievements in the new academic year.
Brig. Juma bin Suwaidan also highlighted the remarkable success of the 'Accident-Free Day' campaign over the past years in Dubai, achieving the significant milestone of zero fatalities and a notable reduction in the accident rate on the first day of school. He attributed this success to the commitment of drivers and parents to traffic regulations, which has played a pivotal role in ensuring a safe return to school life.
Join Forces
He further pointed out that the primary objective of the 'Accident-Free Day' campaign is to rectify and improve drivers' behaviour through a collective sense of responsibility and community collaboration, ultimately serving the public interest on the first day of school by achieving zero fatalities resulting from accidents. "The campaign also aims to allow individuals to actively engage and contribute to its success by fostering a spirit of challenge, encouraging them to avoid traffic violations, and reducing the accident rate," he continued.
Raise Awareness
Brig. Juma bin Suwaidan further explained that Dubai Police prepared a comprehensive marketing plan for the campaign. "The plan included the use of educational videos, dissemination of awareness messages on the Dubai Police website and social media platforms, placement of campaign information on ATMs, display of informative posters, and promotion of the initiative in government and private institutions, as well as commercial centres across the emirate," he concluded.
