T-CHIP Semicon Summit 2025 Ends with Landmark MoUs, Global Roadmap
  • 18 Universities and Colleges sign pacts to support T-CHIP vision
  • Global leaders from NYCU, TSRI, ARM, GUS join hands with India’s academia & industry
  •  IIT Hyderabad unveils its first indigenously designed chip at the summit

Hyderabad: The T-CHIP Semicon Constitution Summit 2025, held in Hyderabad on September 27–28, concluded with landmark outcomes that are set to shape the future of India’s semiconductor ecosystem. The two-day summit brought together global leaders, Indian policymakers, academia, and industry to draft the first-ever “Semiconductor Constitution” — a guiding framework to build a holistic ecosystem across Talent, Design, Manufacturing, and Applications.

The inaugural session was graced by Hon’ble Minister Duddhilla Sridhar Babu (IT & Industries, Telangana), Member of Parliament Eatala Rajender, Deputy Speaker Banda Prakash, and former IT Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah, who underlined Telangana’s role as a launchpad for India’s semiconductor revolution.

A key highlight was the signing of 18 MoUs with leading universities and colleges across Telangana, committing to align with T-CHIP’s Four-Pillar Strategy. These pacts aim to integrate semiconductor training into curricula, set up design labs, and create opportunities for faculty and students to participate in global research and innovation networks.

The summit also witnessed wide global participation. Leaders from National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU), Taiwan Semiconductor Research Institute (TSRI), ARM, and GUS Technology led by CEO CC Chang shared insights and pledged support to India’s semiconductor vision. Adding to the momentum, IIT Hyderabad unveiled its first indigenously designed chip, a symbolic milestone of India’s growing design capabilities.

Over the two days, delegates engaged in Chip Talks, MoU signings, awards ceremonies, and high-powered networking sessions, with discussions centered on bridging the global talent gap of 1.5 million semiconductor professionals by 2030 — including India’s requirement of 85,000 skilled experts.

Speaking at the inaugural, Hon’ble Minister Sridhar Babu praised the initiative, “I appreciate Mr. Sundeep Kumar Makthala and his relentless efforts through T-CHIP to put Telangana on the global semiconductor map. His vision of building a complete ecosystem — from talent to fabs — is both timely and inspiring. The Government of Telangana assures its complete support to the T-CHIP initiative and will work closely to ensure its success.”

In his concluding remarks, Mr. Sundeep Kumar Makthala, Chairman of T-CHIP, “This summit marks a turning point. With 18 universities stepping forward, global leaders lending their voice, and India’s own IIT Hyderabad showcasing its chip, we have proven that the Semiconductor Constitution is not just an idea — it is now a movement. Telangana is the launchpad, but the mission is for India and the world.”

The success of the summit was supported by TTPOC (Telangana Training and Placement Officers Consortium) and SpringSemi, with the dedicated efforts of the T-CHIP team — Vamshi Anangasidhi and Balakondaiah — playing a crucial role in driving this initiative forward. Together, they ensured that Hyderabad emerged as the focal point for India’s semiconductor roadmap.
