Dubai: The General Department of Transport and Rescue at Dubai Police organised a visit to the Seniors’ Happiness Centre in Dubai to celebrate the International Day of Older Persons, observed annually on 1 October. 

The occasion aims to highlight the rights of senior citizens, address the challenges they face, and emphasise the importance of providing them with the care they deserve in recognition of their lifelong contributions.

Colonel Yahya Hussain Muhammad, Deputy Director of the Search and Rescue Department at the General Department of Transport and Rescue, said the visit reflects Dubai Police’s ongoing commitment to engaging with all segments of society. “Our senior citizens hold a special place in our hearts. They raised generations and achieved remarkable milestones in serving the nation, and it is our duty to honour and appreciate them,” he added.

The event featured a performance by the Dubai Police Musical Band, along with the distribution of gifts and commemorative photographs with the senior citizens.
