Dubai: The Dubai Event Security Committee has confirmed its preparations for Eid Al Adha with a comprehensive plan to secure all major mosques and prayer grounds across the emirate. The plan includes intensifying patrols on main roads, in vital and tourist areas, commercial centres, and open markets to enhance security and safety measures.

Security Plan
Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Assistant Commandant for Operations Affairs and Chairperson of the Event Security Committee, stated during the committee meeting at Al Qusais Police Station that the security plan includes securing all mosques and grand prayer grounds, deploying patrols on all roads, in vital and tourist areas, commercial centres, and open markets to enhance safety, ease congestion, and ensure smooth traffic flow through joint cooperation between the General Department of Traffic and its partners at the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).

Maj. Gen. Al Mazrouei explained that the plan includes the provision of 1,642 security patrols, 37 land rescue patrols, 29 marine security boats, two helicopters, six operations rooms, 160 ambulatory points, 50 bicycle patrols, five marine rescue boats, 208 Civil Defence vehicles, 24 small cranes, four CBRN responders, and 11 hospitals and outpatient clinics.

Trains and Vehicles
Al Mazrouei also highlighted that the plan enhances transportation services, featuring 106 trains, 18,500 luxury limousine vehicles, 14,500 taxis, 1,400 public buses, 55 marine transport vehicles, three traffic diversion vehicles, and 10 traffic management and public transport control centres.

Command & Control Centre
Furthermore, Al Mazrouei affirmed the readiness of the Command and Control Centre to operate 24/7 to receive emergency calls and reports, ensuring a swift and professional response. He urged the public to call 999 only for emergencies and 901 for non-emergencies and general inquiries. Additionally, he encouraged reporting violations through the ‘Police Eye’ service on the Dubai Police smart app.

Speed Compliance
Al Mazrouei appealed to members of the public to adhere to speed limits and not to spoil the joy of Eid by driving at high speeds, in order to avoid traffic accidents and the resulting serious physical, psychological, and financial consequences. He also advised jet ski users to stay away from areas where families gather on beaches.

Attention to Children
Moreover, Al Mazrouei urged beachgoers to stay vigilant and keep a close eye on children at beaches, swimming pools, and all crowded public spaces. He also reminded users of bicycles and four-wheel-drive vehicles in desert areas to drive cautiously and avoid excessive speeds.

Fireworks
He called on families and parents not to allow their children to play with fireworks during Eid, in the interest of their safety. He pointed out the dangers of fireworks, which can cause injuries, burns, and disfigurements that may lead to permanent disabilities. Al Mazrouei also warned that fireworks can ignite fires, posing risks to lives and property and causing significant material and environmental damage.

Sports Competitions & Entertainment Activities
Major General Al Mazrouei explained that the Event Security Committee, the General Department of Police Stations, and the Positive Spirit Council are committed to providing recreational activities for workers in areas such as Jebel Ali, Al Satwa, Al Muhaisnah, and Al Quoz. “This includes organising sports competitions and entertainment activities on the first and second days of Eid Al Adha, from 6:00 pm to midnight, with the aim of bringing happiness to workers and sharing the joy of Eid with them,” he concluded.
