Dubai Police inaugurates 17th Edition of \'Event Security\' Course

Dubai: Brigadier Obaid Mubarak bin Yaarouf Al Ketbi, Acting Director of the General Department for Protective Security and Emergency, inaugurated the 17th edition of the "Event Security" course, organised by the VIP Protection Department in cooperation with the General Department of Training. The course aims to promote event security concepts among internal partners across Dubai Police's general departments and police stations, as well as external partners from police, security, and specialised entities involved in event security.

The three‑day course, delivered by experts in event security, has attracted 120 participants from 18 police, security, and specialised institutions across the country, alongside Dubai Police personnel.

Enhancing Readiness
Colonel Ahmed Salem Al Mansouri, Director of the VIP Protection Department, delivered an opening statement, welcoming participants from various police, security, and specialised entities. He affirmed that the course is part of Dubai Police’s ongoing commitment to enhancing readiness and raising the efficiency of personnel working in event security – particularly as the UAE hosts many of the world’s largest events and has successfully established itself as a global destination in this economically and tourism‑vital sector.

Three Key Objectives
Colonel Al Mansouri outlined three main objectives of the course: disseminating event security concepts among internal and external partners, strengthening the ability to initially address obstacles during events and notify the relevant authorities, and clarifying the roles of all partners to increase cooperation among specialised teams. He wished the participants success and urged them to transfer valuable knowledge to their colleagues.

Course Agenda
It is worth noting that the three‑day agenda includes theoretical materials and practical training designed to reinforce knowledge and ensure participants can apply their learning in real‑world scenarios, in line with best practices that reflect a high level of readiness. The course also aims to develop the efficiency and capabilities of security personnel and partners working in event‑related sectors, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to handle challenges – ensuring the safety and security of all attendees at event sites.
