Sharjah: The Sharjah Department of Public Works (SDPW) has taken part in the Bardan wa Salaman (Coolness and Comfort) campaign, organised by the Sharjah Charity International at the Muwaileh District Council.
The humanitarian initiative aims to reduce the effects of heat stress on workers by packing and distributing summer care kits, reinforcing the values of social solidarity and volunteerism across the emirate.

Imran Ali from the department’s Public Relations Section said the participation reflects Sharjah Public Works’ commitment to its social responsibility and its role in supporting humanitarian initiatives that improve quality of life and ease the burden on workers.

He noted that the department remains committed to working closely with charitable organisations across the emirate to provide meaningful support that responds to community needs while reflecting Sharjah’s deeply rooted values of solidarity.

Ali added that the initiative embodies the emirate’s vision of strengthening social cohesion, particularly during the summer months when temperatures soar, helping to ensure a safer and more secure season for workers.

The department’s participation forms part of a wider programme of community initiatives carried out throughout the year, reinforcing its humanitarian role and highlighting the importance of collaboration between government entities and charitable organisations in serving the community and supporting those most in need.
