Al Shamsi Attends Dubai Police's Celebration of Emirati Women's Day

Dubai: His Excellency Major General Hareb Al Shamsi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief for Criminal Investigation Affairs at Dubai Police, attended Dubai Police's celebration of Emirati Women's Day, organized by the Dubai Police Women's Council under the theme "We Emerge Stronger and Better”. The event was also attended by His Excellency Major General Dr. Saleh Abdullah Murad, Assistant Commandant for Administrative Affairs; His Excellency Major General Badran Al Shamsi, Assistant Commandant for Academy and Training Affairs; Brigadier Musabah Saeed Al Ghafli, Assistant Commandant for Operations Affairs; Brigadier Mansour Al Gergawi, Director of the General Department of Administrative Affairs; along with a number of senior officers and female personnel.
On the occasion of Emirati Women's Day, Major General Hareb Al Shamsi affirmed that this day represents an important national occasion to celebrate the achievements of women across various fields. He noted that the daughters of the UAE have proven themselves as active partners in the nation's development journey and as a cornerstone in establishing security and stability through their distinguished presence in policing across its various specialisations. He added that supporting and empowering women is a deeply rooted strategic approach at Dubai Police, driven by the belief that investing in their potential is investing in the nation's future, security, and prosperity.
Honouring
The ceremony, held at the Dubai Police Officers Club, featured the honouring of Colonel Abdullah Al Balooshi, Director of the Employee Affairs Department at the General Department of Human Resources, who was presented with a shield by Major General Hareb Al Shamsi in recognition of his unwavering support for female personnel at Dubai Police. The ceremony also honoured distinguished members of the Women's Council, female sports teams, and a number of outstanding female employees.
Decision‑Makers
Maj. Gen. Al Shamsi also honoured 14 female graduates of the 'Decision-Makers' training programme, organised by the Women's Council in collaboration with the General Department of Training. The initiative aims to qualify and empower female employees for leadership roles, strengthen their decision‑making capabilities, increase female representation in committees and work teams, and enhance overall performance efficiency through a specialised training curriculum.
Al Shamsi congratulated the graduates of the programme, wishing them success in their professional careers and encouraging them to share the knowledge they gained with their colleagues.
Women's Council
During the ceremony, Expert Lieutenant Colonel Anoud Al Saadi, Head of the Dubai Police Women's Council, delivered the opening address, saying: "On this day, I extend my highest congratulations to the '”Mother of the Nation”, Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, and to every woman, on the occasion of Emirati Women's Day, observed annually on 28 August. A special day has been dedicated to celebrating women, with activities extending over a full month, in recognition of their achievements and their growing role in the nation's development journey."
Lt. Col. Al Saadi also highlighted the commitment of Dubai Police to supporting and empowering Emirati women across various sectors, noting that Force was among the first institutions to adopt a clear approach to gender balance.
She also touched upon the UAE's efforts in promoting and empowering women over the years, particularly in the field of education, enabling them to take on leading roles across various sectors, with their representation in the Federal National Council reaching 50%.
The ceremony also featured a short film highlighting the role of female personnel in Dubai Police, along with commemorative photos taken on this national occasion.
