Dubai Police Digital Transformation Council Reviews AI Projects and Next‑Phase Plans

Dubai: His Excellency Major General Dr. Ahmed Zaal bin Krishna Al Muhairi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief for Financial and Administrative Affairs at Dubai Police, chaired the second meeting of the Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence Council. The meeting was attended by His Excellency Major General Khalid Nasser Al Razooqi, Director of the General Department of Artificial Intelligence; His Excellency Major General Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Mualla, Director of the General Department of Excellence and Pioneering; and Council members.
The meeting reflects Dubai Police’s commitment to advancing its digital transformation journey and expanding the use of artificial intelligence across policing, administrative, and service domains. These efforts align with the Dubai Government's vision to position the emirate as a global leader in adopting future technologies, leveraging AI to enhance services, improve institutional performance, and elevate customer experience and quality of life.
The Council reviewed its performance indicators and their alignment with those of the Dubai Government and Dubai Police General Command. It also followed up on decisions and recommendations from the previous meeting, and examined the risk register, the Council's financial plan, and a number of strategic AI and digital transformation projects and initiatives.
The Council also discussed the "Customer Happiness and Experience" system projects and ongoing efforts to develop services for both internal and external audiences. Discussions covered the use of AI and data technologies to improve the customer journey, accelerate procedures, and raise service quality and efficiency.
The meeting addressed several key areas, including smart policing field operations, building an organisation grounded in digital transformation and supported by AI and data, developing future digital capabilities, governance and strategic performance, and other areas related to the development of the future policing system.
During the meeting, the Council also reviewed a number of strategic projects, including the foundational infrastructure project for the AI platform, which aims to provide an integrated technical environment to support smart applications and solutions. The operational plan for AI agents and the future operations centre project were also discussed.
Major General Dr. Ahmed Zaal affirmed Dubai Police’s commitment to transitioning towards an AI-enabled institutional system, in line with the Dubai Government's vision and reinforcing the emirate's position in adopting future technologies and developing more efficient and proactive operating models.
He stated that embedding AI in policing work is a fundamental pillar for achieving a qualitative leap in procedures, projects, and services. He also noted that the next phase will see greater expansion in delivering AI-driven services to both internal and external audiences, contributing to saving time and effort, enhancing transaction accuracy and speed, and improving customer experience.
He added that Dubai Police is focused on building an integrated institutional system that relies on AI and data to support decision-making, improve operational efficiency, develop services, and anticipate future needs.
Major General Dr. Ahmed Zaal commended the efforts of the working teams and committees involved in digital transformation and AI projects, appreciating their dedication to developing initiatives and implementing high-impact projects. He emphasised the importance of continuing to work as one team and strengthening integration across various sectors and departments to achieve strategic objectives.
In conclusion, he stressed the need to focus on measuring the actual impact of projects, accelerate the implementation of priority initiatives, and develop digital capabilities to ensure the optimal use of AI technologies and support Dubai Police's drive towards building a more efficient, flexible, and sustainable future policing model.
