Sharjah Police raises UAE flag across all buildings for Flag Day

Sharjah: Lieutenant General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police (SP), said Flag Day renews the pledge to safeguard the Union’s achievements. The General Command marked the national occasion by raising the UAE flag at all its buildings and facilities in every region of the emirate.

Ceremony at headquarters
The flag went up at 11am on the main flagpole at the Police headquarters, at the same moment as at every other police building and facility. The band of the Sharjah Police Sciences Academy played the UAE national anthem.

Directors general and their deputies attended, along with directors of directorates and departments. Officers, non-commissioned officers, other ranks and civilian staff from across the police units also took part.

Greetings to the leadership
Lieutenant General bin Amer offered his congratulations to UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and to His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.

He extended the same wishes to the other members of the Federal Supreme Council and Rulers of the Emirates. His message also went to His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and to His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah. It also reached His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, as well as the Crown Princes and Deputy Rulers.

He asked God to grant the UAE’s leadership, government and people continued progress and prosperity.

A pledge to protect the Union
Flag Day, he said, renews the commitment to protect the Union’s achievements and reflects a shared national will to keep building a state. That strength, he added, comes from the bond between leadership and people, and from the conviction that people are the foundation of development and prosperity.

“The UAE flag will remain a symbol of unity and pride,” he said, “and a witness to the journey of a nation built by the determination of its people and the vision of its leadership.”

Duty to the nation
The occasion, Lieutenant General bin Amer added, carries a national responsibility to keep working with sincerity and dedication. He said members of Sharjah Police must honour the trust placed in them to serve the country and protect its security and stability.

He prayed that God would preserve the nation’s honour and prosperity, and that its flag would continue to fly high.
