Dubai: The Dubai Police, in cooperation with Dubai Customs volunteer team ‘Gayyath’, has recently launched the "Cool Summer" initiative to spread positive vibes among labourers and ease the summer heat. 

Colonel Juma Salem Obaid Bin Suwaidan, Deputy Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, said the initiative consolidates the vital role of Dubai Police and Dubai Customs towards different segments of society. "The "Cool Summer" initiative demonstrates the mutual keenness on promoting humanitarian values and solidarity, as well as building bridges of communication with all segments of society", he added. 

Col. Bin Suwaidan indicated that "Al Sheyam Community Team" affiliated to the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, and Gayyath Volunteer Team have distributed bottled water, cold juices, gloves, hats, and sanitizers among labourers across construction sites at Naif area in coordination with Naif Police Station. 

Colonel Omar Musa Ashour, Deputy Director of Naif Police Station, said the "Cool Summer" initiative is a part of a series of humanitarian initiatives that are carried out by the Dubai Police within the framework of social responsibility and placing labour rights at the forefront of its strategies and plans. 

Fuad Al Shehhi, head of the Ghayath Volunteer Team, said that the Dubai Customs is always keen on participating in initiatives, especially the ones that aim at supporting labourers to protect them from the blazing heat of summer.

"The "Cool Summer" initiative is also in line with the framework of strengthening partnerships among government agencies ", Al Shehhi added.
