Dubai: Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, ‘Graduation of the Fiftieth’ kicks off tomorrow, Wednesday 9 February 2022, at Al Wasl Plaza at Expo 2020 Dubai. The ceremony is organised by the Dubai Police General Command under the umbrella of the UAE Ministry of Interior.

Organized under the theme ‘Graduation of the Fiftieth’ in line with the UAE’s Golden Jubilee celebrations to mark the 50th anniversary of the union, the ceremony marks the graduation of a total of 702 male and female cadets. These include 425 students from Abu Dhabi Police College (245 cadets, 167 male students, and 13 female students); 248 cadets from Dubai Police Academy (185 male students and 63 female students); and 29 cadets and students from Sharjah Police Academy. 

The first-of-its-kind ceremony, which will take place at EXPO 2020 Dubai’s Al Wasl Plaza, is considered the world’s first graduation ceremony comprising three police academies, as well as the first police graduation to be held outside academic headquarters. In addition, this year’s ceremony includes the first and second UAE-wide cohorts of female police and will feature the first parade of female police officers in the Middle East.

With a high number of cadets graduating from the three colleges, the organizations involved in arranging this year's ceremony have paid particular attention to choosing a time and location that reflect the significance of this important occasion. The event will feature several technical demonstrations and military shows, which have been designed to display high levels of professionalism and create a prominent ceremony in line with the wise leadership’s vision and standards.
