Dubai: The Dubai Police Commander-in-Chief, His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, has recently honoured the force's cyclists for their victory and excellent performance during the 6th Salam Cycling Championship. 

The Championship was held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. 

The Dubai Police's winning teams have been recognised for their high performance and efforts in the Championship. They won first place in the teams, male and female competitions during the 50-year race for Emirati amateurs the 50-year race for the female elite in the salam cycling championship. They also won several other medals.

The honouring ceremony, held at the Dubai Police Officer's Club, was attended by Major General Ahmed Mohammed Rafie, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Administration Affairs, Colonel Ali Khalfan Al Mansouri, Acting Director for Community Happiness, and Lieutenant Colonel Abdul Basit Ali, Director of the Sports Affairs. 

Lt. Gen. Al Marri extended his appreciations and gratitude to Their Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid and Sheikh Saif bin Zayed al Nahyan, Deputy Prime minister, Minister of Interior, for embracing an active lifestyle and supporting athletes. 

Lt. Gen. Al Marri expressed his admiration of the neat and professional organisation carried out by the Higher Organising Committee of the Al Salam Cycling Championship and expressed his thanks to the sponsors: Emirates General Petroleum Corporation (EMARAT) and Colnago. 

The Commander-in-Chief further praised the performance of the cycling team and congratulated them on their victory. 

In turn, the Dubai Police cycling team members expressed their appreciation for this honourable recognition.
