President of INTERPOL praises World Police Summit Axis
- March 04, 2022Dubai: Major General Ahmed Naser Al Raisi, President of the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL), Inspector General of the Ministry of Interior, hailed axis and sessions of the World Police Summit, which is organised to bring together senior, international police and law enforcement officials and professionals to address governments, policymakers and sector professionals and discuss the key priorities shaping the future of policing.
The Summit is scheduled from 14 to 17 March 2022. It will be hosted at the Dubai Exhibition Centre – Expo 2020 under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, and the Ruler of Dubai. The event is hosted by Dubai Police and organised by dmg events.
Maj. Gen. Al Raisi said, "Today's world faces new challenges when combating organised crimes, as criminals invent new methods and adopt unconventional approaches to commit their crimes." "They change their ways rapidly and consult with the latest technologies and AI systems to achieve their objectives and disappear without a trace."
"Local police agencies around the world face difficulties in foiling and preventing their crimes with means and authorities that are restricted to their jurisdictions. Therefore, joining forces with international law enforcement agencies is inevitable and necessary to stop their criminal advances and crackdown their schemes. Cooperation is essential to weaken and dismantle these criminal organisations and bring perpetrators to justice," Maj. Gen. Al Raisi added.
"Today's world is in dire need to enhance cooperation through organisations, particularly the INTERPOL, which actively make its resources and databases available for 195 country members."
"Cooperation and collaboration between concerned entities on local, regional, and international levels facilitate the exchange of data and information, expedite the extradition of wanted criminals, open effective communication channels, unify efforts at land, maritime and air borders, and utilise technologies and Artificial Intelligence in an attempt to take proactive steps to prevent crimes," President of INTERPOL concluded.
