Dubai: As part of their continuous efforts to educating and raising the awareness of young people on most prominent issues that affect them, the General Department for Community Happiness in Dubai Police, represented by the Security Awareness Department, has recently discussed aspects of partnership and ways of cooperation with the Federal Youth Foundation in Dubai.

The meeting, which took place in the Youth Centre at the Emirates Towers, discussed means to enhance joint efforts and developing frameworks and mechanisms that serve security and awareness campaigns targeting youth. 

Key Partnership

Butti Ahmad bin Darwish Al Falasi, Director of the Security Awareness Department, said that they, under the directives of His Excellency Lieutenant-General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, work tirelessly to empower youth and activate their role in various sectors. He affirmed their endeavour to enhance cooperation and partnership with strategic partners and to exchange expertise and experiences in a way that serves the awareness aspect of the various segments of society, especially the youth, whom we consider the future of the nation and the pillar of its progress.

Al Falasi noted that the meeting aims to shed light on the interests of young people, seek their views on the most important issues of concern, and identify priorities and general frameworks per scientific surveys and studies.

"The meeting with the Federal Youth Authority aims to discuss ways of cooperation and coordination that support the goals of campaigns and initiatives launched by the Security Awareness Department, which in turn serve the strategic objective of Dubai Police in enhancing the safety and security of society," he added.

During the meeting, Al Falasi also shared with the Authority statistics of several awareness campaigns and accompanying activities Dubai Police has launched with the aim of raising awareness among the youth.

Joining Forces

Rashid Ghanem Al Shamsi, Director of Youth Initiatives at the Federal Youth Authority, expressed their happiness to cooperate with the Dubai Police General Command and praised the role of the Security Awareness Department, which complements the role of federal, local and private institutions and bodies in targeting the country’s youth and empowering them effectively.

Al Shamsi stressed that the UAE pays special attention to its youth and is keen to raise their security and societal sense to face challenges, manage crises, and establish channels of communication with them, and other methods that contribute to preparing a conscious generation, of whom the state is proud, immune to security and morals.

The meeting was also attended by: Major Ali Yousef Yaqoub, Head of the Cultural Diversity Department; First Lieutenant Hassan Al Sharif; Ms. Mona Al Mazrouei, General Coordinator of the Ripe Market Initiative; and Ms. Alia Ahmad Al Nuaimi, Projects Manager at the Federal Youth Authority.
