Dibba Al Hisn’s Social Services Department visits DFWAC to learn about psychological and legal best practices

Dubai: The Dubai Foundation for Women and Children (DFWAC) has received a delegation from the Social Services Department, Dibba Al Hisn Branch, Sharjah, as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance institutional cooperation and facilitate the exchange of expertise among social entities in the UAE.
The visit aimed to familiarise the delegation with best practices in psychological support, family counselling theories, treatment techniques, and operational mechanisms adopted by the Foundation.
Led by Jawaher Al Riyami, Director of Dibba Al Hisn Branch, the delegation included Saeed Al Awani, Legal Researcher at the Mentorship and Empowerment Division; Hamad Al Dhahouri, Customer Service Specialist; and Amal Al Zeyoudi, Head of the Mentorship and Empowerment Division.
The guests were welcomed by Dr. Amna Al Mutawa, Psychological Services Manager at the Foundation; Shaikha Al Awadi, Psychological Counsellor; and Hessa Al Marzouqi, Director of the Legal Affairs Office, along with several members of the Foundation’s team.
During the visit, a comprehensive presentation highlighting the Foundation’s leading psychological and legal programmes and services was delivered, followed by a tour of DFWAC internal facilities, including the relaxation room and spaces dedicated to psychological and social empowerment. The delegation also reviewed the Foundation’s processes for managing legal cases and customer support initiatives.
Her Excellency Shaikha Saeed Al Mansouri, Acting Director General of the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children, said that exchanging knowledge and expertise is a fundamental part of the Foundation’s strategy and a necessary mechanism for strengthening the social welfare system. She noted that such institutional visits foster a more integrated environment and raise the standard of services delivered.
“Uniting efforts and sharing expertise among social institutions is the best way to drive real progress in services for women and children,” Al Mansouri said. “We look forward to continued and fruitful cooperation with our partners in Dibba Al Hisn.”
For her part, Dr. Amna Al Mutawa described the visit as an important milestone in the Foundation’s ongoing collaboration with community partners. She emphasised the Foundation’s commitment to continuously advancing its therapeutic and rehabilitation programmes in line with international best practices.
“We are committed to providing a holistic environment that brings together psychological, social, and legal services, strengthens family empowerment, and develops qualified professionals for this vital field at both local and regional levels,” Dr. Al Mutawa said.
Meanwhile, Jawaher Al Riyami expressed her appreciation for the Foundation’s hospitality and praised its integrated approach to service delivery.
“This visit has been a wonderful opportunity to learn from the Foundation’s pioneering experience in psychosocial support,” Al Riyami said. “We believe that open communication and collaboration is key to further developing care and family empowerment initiatives throughout the UAE.”
