BCCI unveils India’s 2026 T20 World Cup jersey in Raipur

Raipur: The BCCI introduced India’s jersey for the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup during a special presentation at the second ODI against South Africa in Raipur. The reveal heightened anticipation ahead of the tournament, which will take place from February 7 to March 8 across eight venues in India and Sri Lanka.

India has been placed in Group A alongside Pakistan, the United States, the Netherlands, and Namibia. The team will open its campaign against the US in Mumbai on February 7, kicking off what is expected to be a highly anticipated edition of the competition. Former Indian captain Rohit Sharma, serving as the tournament’s brand ambassador, led the unveiling ceremony. He was joined by young T20 squad member Tilak Varma as the two showcased the new kit.

Dominant batting display in Raipur

In the second ODI, India delivered a commanding batting performance, amassing 358 for five against South Africa. Virat Kohli and Ruturaj Gaikwad both scored centuries, while KL Rahul provided late-innings acceleration.

Kohli compiled a steady 102 off 93 balls, while Gaikwad struck his maiden ODI century with a fluent 105 from 83 deliveries. Together, they added 195 runs for the third wicket—India’s highest partnership for that wicket against South Africa in ODIs—effectively rescuing the innings after early losses.

Captain Rohit Sharma fell for 14 despite showing early promise, and Yashasvi Jaiswal’s brisk 22 ended due to Marco Jansen’s bounce. Once Kohli and Gaikwad settled in, the innings regained momentum. Gaikwad, who struggled in the previous match, looked much more confident this time, accelerating his scoring with authoritative strokes, including a six and back-to-back fours off Keshav Maharaj.

Kohli appeared in complete control from the start, opening with a pulled six and continuing to dominate the bowling as he reached his 53rd ODI century.

KL Rahul closed out the innings with an unbeaten 66 from 43 balls, ensuring India capitalized fully on the strong platform set by the centurions and reached an imposing total.
