Sharjah: Sharjah has announced the launch of a new commercial licence priced from Dh1,000, aimed at encouraging aspiring entrepreneurs and start-ups, as part of the upcoming Sharjah Entrepreneurship Festival 2026.

The initiative will be unveiled during the festival’s ninth edition, scheduled to be held on January 31 and February 1, 2026, at the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park. Titled the Business Establishment Licence, the new offering will be introduced for the first time at this edition of the festival and will be available exclusively during the two-day event.

The licence is designed to support emerging companies that meet specific eligibility criteria, including operating as start-ups and falling within one of six priority sectors: sustainability, creative industries, education technology, advanced manufacturing, health technology, and transport.

The initiative is part of Sharjah’s wider strategy to foster entrepreneurship, reduce entry barriers for new businesses, and strengthen the emirate’s innovation-led economy. It reflects ongoing efforts to position Sharjah as a supportive hub for start-ups and small enterprises, while encouraging economic diversification and sustainable growth.
