Saudi Arabia Extends Visit Visa Validity Amid Regional Disruptions

Riyadh: Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior has announced new measures to address the status of individuals holding expired visit, Umrah, and transit visas, as well as final exit permits, following travel disruptions caused by ongoing regional conditions.

The ministry stated that the decision applies to visas that expired on or after February 26, 2026. Affected individuals are being offered two options to regularise their status.

Under the first option, expired visas can be extended until April 18, 2026. This process must be initiated by the host through the Absher platform, with applicable fees to be paid.

Alternatively, visa holders may choose to leave the Kingdom directly through international ports without extending their visas. In such cases, no fees or overstay fines will be imposed.

The Ministry of Interior said the initiative is aimed at easing procedures for visitors and residents impacted by the disruptions, while ensuring compliance with regulations and maintaining smooth travel operations across Saudi Arabia’s borders.
