Dubai: The third edition of the Dubai Open for Badminton Academies has concluded with remarkable success, featuring the participation of 419 male and female players representing 32 academies across 564 highly competitive matches.
Organized by the Dubai Sports Council (DSC) in collaboration with the UAE Badminton Federation and operational partner Prime Star Sport Academy, the tournament aligns seamlessly with Dubai’s strategic vision to attract, nurture, and empower emerging sports talent across all disciplines.
Marking a significant technological milestone, the tournament was managed using an Artificial Intelligence-powered system—a first for the region. Developed in partnership with RightTrack Technologies LLC, the system automates precise measurement protocols to ensure a transparent, highly reliable, and fully secure environment for all participating athletes.
Ahmed Salem Al Mahri, Director of the Sports Talent Department at the Dubai Sports Council, emphasized the tournament's role in shaping future champions.
"This championship reflects our commitment to empowering the next generation of athletes by providing competitive platforms that refine their skills and enhance their opportunities to represent the nation internationally," Al Mahri said. "The current edition has demonstrated clear excellence in both participation and organization, reaffirming the success of our strategic partnerships with sports clubs and academies."
Tournament Director Ravi Kumar noted the event's expansive reach and the high caliber of competition.
"The championship achieved remarkable success thanks to the wide participation across various age groups, which led to the emergence of numerous promising talents," Kumar stated. He extended his gratitude to the DSC, the UAE Badminton Federation, and all participating academies, while acknowledging the vital support of sponsors, including host venue Baseline Sports Academy, equipment partner Yonex UAE, technical partner RightTrack Technologies, supporting partner BICA, and medical partner True Life Home Health Care LLC.
