International Yoga Day 2026 Celebrated with Enthusiasm in New Delhi

New Delhi, June 21, 2026: International Yoga Day 2026 (IDY 2026) was celebrated with great enthusiasm and active participation at the Minto Road Central Government Quarters Complex in New Delhi under the sponsorship and guidance of the Ministry of Ayush and the Indian Yoga Institute. The event was organized by Dr. S. Adinarayana, Founder and CEO of Adileela Foundation, in collaboration with the Adileela Foundation, New Delhi, and under the expert guidance of renowned Yogacharya Pinky Chandra.
The programme witnessed the participation of more than 100 residents, yoga practitioners, women, children, and senior citizens from Minto Road Complex, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Marg GPRA Quarters, Gandhi Market, Old Delhi, and nearby localities. The celebration was conducted in accordance with the Common Yoga Protocol prescribed by the Ministry of Ayush.
Participants performed a series of yoga asanas, including Tadasana, Trikonasana, Vajrasana, Uttanmandukasana, Uttanpadasana, Makarasana, and Pawanmuktasana. They also actively practiced various pranayama techniques such as Kapalbhati, Sheetali Pranayama, Bhramari, and Anulom-Vilom, learning about their numerous benefits for physical health, mental well-being, and overall happiness.
Addressing the gathering, Yogacharya Pinky Chandra highlighted the importance of incorporating yoga, pranayama, and meditation into daily life. She emphasized that yoga is not merely a form of exercise but a holistic way of life that promotes health, peace, prosperity, and inner strength. She encouraged participants to dedicate at least one hour every day to yoga and meditation and to motivate children and family members to adopt healthy lifestyles through regular practice.
Pinky Chandra also spoke about the transformative power of meditation in creating a positive environment and strengthening emotional resilience. She noted that healthy citizens are the foundation of a prosperous nation and that yoga can play a crucial role in building a stronger, healthier, and more developed India.
Participants expressed their appreciation for the session and shared their positive experiences of practicing yoga regularly. Many acknowledged the guidance and dedication of Yogacharya Pinky Chandra, who has devoted her life to promoting yoga and wellness among women, children, and the wider community.
Dr. S. Adinarayana lauded the enthusiasm shown by participants and stressed the importance of maintaining a healthy body, mind, and soul through regular yoga practice. He said yoga, pranayama, and meditation are powerful tools that contribute significantly to personal well-being and social harmony.
The event concluded on a positive note, with participants reaffirming their commitment to embracing yoga as a daily practice and promoting its benefits within their communities. The celebration reflected the growing awareness and acceptance of yoga as a vital component of a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
