Dubai Police\'s Positive Spirit Council Organises Awareness Lectures for the Ethiopian Community

Dubai: The Positive Spirit Council at Dubai Police, in cooperation with strategic partners, organised a series of security, traffic, and community awareness lectures tailored for members of the Ethiopian community. The lectures were held at the Positive Spirit Hall at the Dubai Police Officers' Club, as part of Force's ongoing efforts to enhance community awareness and introduce the laws and regulations in force in the UAE.

The lectures were attended by His Excellency Mr. Zerihun Megersa, Consul General of Ethiopia in Dubai and the Northern Emirates; Ms. Fatima Buhajeer, Chairperson of the Positive Spirit Council; and a number of members of the Ethiopian community residing in the country.

The lectures included a range of awareness messages focusing on strengthening security culture, raising traffic awareness, introducing the laws and regulations in force in the UAE, and highlighting the importance of community responsibility and the role of community members in supporting security, stability, and enhancing quality of life.

The event saw positive interaction from attendees through questions and open discussions, which contributed to strengthening direct communication with community members and clarifying various topics related to security, safety, and traffic compliance. This reflects Dubai Police's commitment to reaching out to various communities and enhancing their positive integration into society.

Enhancing Awareness
His Excellency Mr. Zerihun Megersa praised the efforts made by Dubai Police in community awareness, affirming that these initiatives reflect the commitment of government entities in the UAE to care for various resident communities and provide a safe and stable environment for everyone.

He stated: "We extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to Dubai Police and the Positive Spirit Council for organising these valuable lectures that contribute to enhancing the awareness of Ethiopian community members about the laws and regulations in force in the country. Such initiatives strengthen the bonds of cooperation and understanding between government institutions and resident communities, and contribute to embedding the values of mutual respect and positive integration within Emirati society."

Strengthening Partnership
Meanwhile, Ms. Fatima Buhajeer affirmed that organising these lectures aligns with Dubai Police's approach to strengthening community partnership with various communities residing in the country, noting that awareness is the fundamental pillar for building a safe and cohesive society.

She said: "At the Positive Spirit Council, we are keen to build bridges of communication with all segments of society and strengthen partnership with resident communities through awareness programmes and initiatives that contribute to spreading security, traffic, and community knowledge. We believe that investing in awareness is an investment in the security and stability of society, and we are pleased with the positive interaction we have seen from members of the Ethiopian community and their keenness to benefit from these lectures. We also affirm that the Council will continue to launch quality initiatives and programmes targeting various segments of society in line with Dubai Police's vision of bringing happiness to the community and enhancing quality of life ."

At the end of the event, attendees praised the role played by Dubai Police and the Positive Spirit Council in enhancing communication with various communities, affirming the importance of continuing such initiatives that contribute to spreading awareness and reinforce the values of positive coexistence and social solidarity among all members of society.
