Dubai: Dubai Police has launched a specialised podcast interview skills course for participants in its summer programme, equipping young people with modern media and communication skills to help them become effective ambassadors for community safety.

Organised by the Security Media Department in collaboration with the Security Ambassadors Council at the General Department of Human Rights, the programme is designed to empower young people through an integrated training experience that strengthens their leadership, communication and community engagement skills while encouraging them to promote a culture of safety.

Manal Ibrahim, Director of the Security Media Department, said Dubai Police places great importance on engaging students of all age groups through year round and summer programmes that foster knowledge, awareness and positive social values. She added that the initiative aims to enhance participants’ media literacy, strengthen their understanding of traditional and social media, and equip them with the skills to verify information and distinguish credible news from rumours and misinformation.

She explained that the course, launched under the directives of Brigadier Ali Khalfan Al Mansouri, Director of the General Department of Community Happiness, is supervised by First Corporal Mohammad Ibrahim Al Hammadi, presenter of the Dubai Police Podcast. It focuses on developing participants’ podcast interviewing techniques and strengthening their ability to communicate effectively with different segments of society.

Manal Ibrahim added that the programme reflects Dubai Police’s commitment to preparing Security Ambassadors in line with the latest media practices, enabling them to deliver professional awareness messages through podcast platforms and reach wider audiences with impactful community and security content.

The training also covers dialogue techniques, media message development, scriptwriting, episode planning, interview management and handling different recording scenarios, ensuring participants are equipped to produce engaging, high quality digital media content.
