Dubai: One of the the world’s most prolific composers, Ilaiyaraaja, took his fans on an exciting musical journey of some of his most popular songs at Expo 2020 Dubai’s Jubilee Stage on Saturday (5 March).

The audience was blown away as the Indian superstar took the stage alongside a group of talented musicians and singers, offering his fans a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Ahead of his show, Ilaiyaraaja shared a special message with his fans on Expo 2020 Dubai’s official Instagram page: “Hello UAE. Hello Dubai. I am happy to meet you all. I am coming to perform for you along with my musicians and singers to give you joy.”

Widely regarded as one of the greatest Indian composers, he is often credited for introducing western musical sensibilities in the South Indian film musical mainstream.

The first Asian to score a symphony for the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the composer, conductor, singer and lyricist has composed more than 7,000 songs, provided film scores for more than 1,400 movies and performed as part of more than 20,000 concerts.
