Dubai: The Organizing Committee of NAS Sports Tournament has announced the opening of the registration door for the 10th edition of the Tournament, taking place at Nad Al-Sheba Sports Complex during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

Participants in the 10th edition of the Tournament will compete in eight sports games; these are: Volleyball, padel tennis, jujitsu, archery, fencing, wheelchair basketball, running and cycling. 

Registration will open online through the official website of the Tournament as of Monday 20th Feb. for players & teams. 

The NAS Sports Tournament has been launched as per the directives & the generous support of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai & Chairman of the Executive Council, aiming to develop the sports sector in Dubai. 

The Organizing Committee of the Tournament continues its meetings, chaired by H.E. Saeed Hareb, the Secretary General of Dubai Sports Council, in the presence of H.E. Naser Aman Al Rahma, Deputy Chairman of the Organizing Committee & Mr. Hassan Al-Mazrouei, the Tournament’s Manager and Organizing Committee’s members; these are: Dr. Abdul Hamid Al-Attar, and Captain Nasser Mohammed Al Ketbi, representative of Dubai Police. The Executive Committee is headed by Mr.  Saleh Al-Marzouqi and it is joined by Mr. Ali Omar as Deputy Head of the Committee and other two members; these are: Mr. Khalid Al-Awar & Mr. Adel Al-Bannai. The committee has chosen the official sports for the 10th edition of the Tournament with great care, aiming to boost the eminent role of competitions to spread the culture of the exercise of sport and to enhance promising athletes’ skills & technical performance.

Volleyball Competition:

Registration for teams participating in the volleyball competition will continue up to 23rd Feb. 2023, while players’ registration is scheduled from 1st to 20th March 2023. Priority will be given to the teams which have completed all required documents. Each team is allowed to register a maximum of 14 players and 10 players minimum. Players’ age should be 18 years old or above, on the date of the launch of the competition.

Each team is allowed to register a maximum of 12 expatriates and 2 locals minimum. It is not allowed to add new players to the team’s list after the deadline. In case of injuries to one or more players, substitution can be made from the team’s registered members only.

Participating teams will be categorized into two groups, each group comprises four teams. Matches in the groups stage will be played as per the one–round league system. The 1st & 2nd placed teams of each group will qualify to the semi-final stage.
 
The semi-final matches will be contested according to knockout system. The two winners of the semi-final will contest the final match, while the two losers will play the 3rd place match.

Running Competition:

Registration for the 10 km, 5 km & 4 km running competitions will continue up to 3rd April. Participation in this competition is open for locals & expatriates besides international runners. Contestants will compete in various categories; these are:  open category for men & women / community category for male & female locals / elderly male & female locals and expatriates (50 years old & above) / juniors category, which is allocated for male & female youth of 13 & 14 years old and male & female juniors of 11 & 12 years old.

The competition will be managed as per the rules & regulations applicable by the UAE Athletics Federation. Cycling Competition:

Registration for the 77 km cycling competition will continue up to 25th March 2023. Participation is allowed for all locals & expatriates who participate in official races in UAE & overseas from the age of 18 years old & above. Contestants will compete in various categories; as follows: open category for men & women / local amateurs of both genders who are recruited in teams & clubs / community category for male & female local who are not recruited in clubs & teams besides teams of Dubai Police, armed forces & civil defense / elderly male & female locals and expatriates (50 years old & above) / people of determination (Road bikes and hand bikes) and blinds. Padel Tennis Competition:

Registration for the padel tennis competition continues up to 19th March 2023. Contestants will compete in local & international categories. The local categories comprise the 10-point classification category for men and women / the open classification category 100 points / the Emirati and expatriates’ category 200 points / juniors category – U 16. The international categories include golden category & international national team category.
