Abu Dhabi: Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Bowardi, Minister of State for Defence Affairs, emphasised that 30th November is a historic day launched by the late Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in commemoration of the nation’s righteous martyrs, and as an expression of gratitude to them, and in recognition for their sacrifices in the military, civil and humanitarian fields, inside and outside the country.

"The nation's martyr sacrificed themselves for the sake of the nation’s development and safety, protection of its territories, and the upholding to the right, and raise the flag of the UAE, with the sacrifices of its people and their strong and true connection with their homeland and their leadership, in order to preserve the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan who handed them down a homeland that every Emirati and resident is proud of."

In his speech on the occasion of the Commemoration Day, Al Bowardi said, "On this occasion, we are all proud of our brave soldiers, who wrote the greatest lessons of sacrifice, and sacrificed their souls in defence of every inch of the homeland. They are a source of pride for all of us, and their sacrifices will remain immortal in our memories and hearts generations to come. From them, we receive the highest meanings of love of the homeland. They are an example of courage and bravery, and the best role models for the youth of the country in loyalty, sincerity, and sanctity of duty.”

In this glorious occasion, we will not forget relatives of martyrs who supported them to raise the UAE flag high in all fields, as they instilled love of the homeland in their hearts and defend its gains, we pray to Allah the Almighty to grant them patience, and our duty is to give care for them and meet their needs, Al Bowardi concluded.
