Dubai: The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the UAE Journalists Association, with the aim of opening up prospects for cooperation in the fields of media training and human resources development.

This step comes in the context of strengthening institutional relations and exchanging qualitative expertise between the two parties.The agreement was signed by His Excellency Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, and Ms. Fadhila Al Muaini, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Journalists Association.

The agreement reflects the two parties’ commitment to investing in human resources through innovative training programmes that seek to achieve sustainable development and enhance creativity in the fields of media and management.

Al Marri said that this partnership with the Emirates Journalists Association is a qualitative step towards enhancing the integration of media with government work, through knowledge exchange and developing the skills of media cadres in our institution, noting that effective media training increases the ability to communicate with the public and highlights the vital roles of management in serving the community.

Al Muaini stressed that the agreement works to enhance the association’s efforts in supporting the media sector and providing qualitative consultations to develop journalistic work and improve local content, adding that cooperation with the General Administration will contribute to providing distinguished training programs and expanding the scope of deeper cooperation between the two parties.

The memorandum of understanding includes several areas of cooperation, including hosting the General Administration of Media Events organized by the Association, in addition to involving the Association in awareness campaigns related to entry and residence procedures and laws.

It also includes organizing training courses for official spokespeople and providing workshops on managing social media sites and preparing news and media materials.This partnership also contributes to achieving tangible development in joint cooperation between the two parties, which will positively reflect on developing media and administrative cadres and enhancing community awareness about various issues related to residency and foreign affairs.
