The event focused on discussing future challenges and opportunities, climate change and sustainable renewable energy, innovation and knowledge, and risk management and business continuity.
The forum was inaugurated by His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, in the presence of His Excellency Expert Major General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant Commandant for Criminal Investigation Affairs at Dubai Police; His Excellency Major General Abdullah Ali Al Ghaithi, Assistant Commandant for Operations Affairs; His Excellency Major General Ali Atiq bin Lahej, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Ports Affairs; and Major General Ali Ghanem, Assistant Commandant for Community Happiness and Logistics at Dubai Police, along with several general directors, and senior officers.
Al Marri commended the efforts of the Resilience Centre and the Council of College and University Students, highlighting that the organization of the second Resilience Forum underscores the commitment to making Dubai a safe and resilient city that meets internationally recognized standards for resilience and enhances the overall security and happiness of the community. He encouraged participants to benefit from the sessions, workshops, and valuable insights provided by experts and stay updated with the latest developments in resilience.
The forum brought together over 19 leading educational institutions and featured eight specialized workshops focused on five key axes: the environment and climate change, sustainable and renewable energy, risk management and business continuity, innovation and knowledge, and future challenges and opportunities.
Brigadier Expert Ahmad Borqaiba, Director of the Resilience Centre at Dubai Police, noted that the forum addresses crucial topics that align with the country’s strategic goals to enhance ongoing preparedness by anticipating risks, reducing their negative impacts, and responding effectively to navigate the future with efficiency and professionalism.
Borqaiba mentioned that the second edition of the forum aimed to engage university and college students by introducing them to the concept of resilience and sharing knowledge on strategic planning for risk management. “It also facilitated discussions with experts about implementing best practices to ensure business continuity and service delivery during crises. The forum emphasized the importance of early risk identification and managing risks with high professionalism, followed by a return to normalcy after a crisis,” he added.
During the event, participants also watched a short film showcasing the role of the Dubai Police Resilience Centre in anticipating the future and highlighting the significance of applying resilience standards to support the economy and navigate unexpected crises.
Accompanying Exhibition
Toward the end of the forum, Lt. Gen. Al Marri toured the accompanying exhibition, which included eight modern innovations by the participating entities and university students. He also honoured the speakers and participating entities at the forum.
