Dubai: The Dubai Event Security Committee (ESC) has announced the completion of all security preparations for the 'Dream Final' of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. This highly anticipated match will feature the prestigious Indian team competing against the ambitious New Zealand team, culminating in an extraordinary finale of one of the world's premier cricket tournaments, organized by the International Cricket Council every four years for elite national teams.
This announcement was made during a meeting of the ESC at the Dubai Police Officers Club, chaired by H.E. Major General Abdullah Ali Al Ghaithi, Assistant Commandant for Operations Affairs. He was joined by Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Director of the General Department of Traffic and Vice-Chair of the Committee, along with Khalid Al Zarooni, Vice Chairman of the Emirates Cricket Board and Executive Board member of the Asian Cricket Council, and Nasser Aman Al Rahma, Assistant Secretary-General of the Dubai Sports Council. Together, they gathered to discuss the final preparations for the Dream Final.
During the meeting, Al Ghaithi remarked that the UAE solidified its reputation as one of the most prosperous countries in hosting major international events. "This success is attributed to visionary leadership, a comprehensive work strategy, and effective investments in infrastructure and sports facilities," he added.
Al Ghaithi emphasized that all the necessary factors are in place to make organizing, participating in, and attending events a truly exceptional experience, promoting the UAE's appeal as a leading destination for sports and athletes. "The country offers diverse options that cater to various needs, backed by strong infrastructure, flexibility, and facilities, along with its prime location, natural attractions, and sports venues built to the highest international standards," he continued.
He also mentioned that coordination has been established with the organizing committee of the "Dream Final" match and the partners responsible for securing the event to set up security protocols and procedures. "The Dubai Event Security Committee is fully prepared to host and secure the sporting event, especially since it is expected to draw large crowds of fans. A comprehensive security plan is in place to ensure the safety of the event both inside and outside the stadium, facilitating the smooth arrival and departure of fans and players," Al Ghaithi noted.
He indicated that this effort aims to project the outstanding image of Dubai and the UAE as a premier host for significant global events and championships, showcasing their proficiency and capability in organizing and securing international events.
Al Ghaithi highlighted the importance of teamwork in ensuring the Dream Final is organized to the highest standards, showcasing the UAE's impressive capabilities in hosting major global championships professionally. He also commended the efforts of all Event Security Committee members and their teams' readiness at all levels to carry out the necessary security and administrative tasks.
Notably, the Indian team, which has the most considerable fanbase in the world for cricket, advanced to the finals by defeating Australia in the first semifinal match last Tuesday in Dubai. They will be joined by New Zealand, which secured its spot by winning against South Africa in the second semifinal match held in Lahore, Pakistan.
