Hyderabad to Host World’s First Showcase connecting Innovators with Journalists

Minister Sridhar Babu urges startups and scale-ups to share their stories with the world through media
100+ IT Beat Journalists to access 100 untold innovation stories in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Telangana IT & Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu, along with Mr Sundeep Kumar Makthala, today unveiled the poster of Pitch2Press, an unprecedented initiative designed to connect entrepreneurs directly with the media. The event will be held on September 27, 2025, at Trident Hotel, Hyderabad, and is being described as the world’s first showcase where innovators pitch their stories directly to journalists.

Launching the poster, Sridhar Babu commended the DIGITHON team for creating this unique bridge between businesses and the press. He emphasized that while startups often focus on investors, it is media visibility that builds credibility, trust, and recognition in markets. “Every innovation deserves a story. A single article can take a business to audiences that no boardroom or pitch deck can reach. I urge startups and scale-ups to make use of this opportunity and showcase their ideas to the world through the media,” the Minister said.

He also recalled DIGITHON’s impactful work at the grassroots level, noting with pride that his native village Dhanwada in Mantheni Constituency became a 100% digital village thanks to the Digithon Digital Literacy movement.

Pitch2Press is set to bring together 100+ IT Beat Journalists from across India — specialists who cover technology, startups, and innovation — and give them access to 100 curated innovations. For business owners and innovators, this means that their pitch does not end in a closed hall, but has the potential to be published, broadcast, and amplified nationwide. For the journalist community, the event offers an unmatched content hub, with direct access to authentic and untold stories of India’s innovation ecosystem.

Speaking at the launch, the World Telugu Information Technology Council (WTITC) Chairman Sundeep Kumar Makthala, , said: “Pitch2Press is not just an event, it is a movement to give innovation the voice it deserves. A well-told story can transform a startup faster than any cheque — it can influence customers, attract partners, and inspire investors. By bringing over 100 journalists under one roof, we are creating a platform where innovation turns into influence, and ideas turn into headlines. I invite both innovators and the media community to be part of this historic showcase.”

The launch was also attended by members of the Digithon team, including Bhagya Lakshmi Vakiti, Hema Maram, Deepika Joshi, Tejaswini, Nitignya Harkara, and Prakash, who extended their support to the initiative.
