Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi’s hospitality sector has entered a new era with the launch of its first floating hotel, the Orchid Overnight Superyacht, now docked at Yas Marina. Operated by Dutch Oriental, the luxury vessel is officially open for bookings, offering guests a five-star experience on the water.

The superyacht features 31 rooms in total, designed to suit different preferences. These include 24 superior rooms (25 sqm) with king or twin beds and private bathrooms, four VIP rooms (30 sqm) with en suite facilities, and three royal suites (60 sqm) that come with a separate living area, sofa bed, hot tub, and shower.

Room rates start at Dh990 per night. Guests can enjoy round-the-clock concierge and housekeeping services, smart room automation, and a panoramic 360-degree sun deck.

“This launch is a bold new chapter for Abu Dhabi’s hospitality scene,” said Jassim Albastaki, general manager at Yas Asset Management. “The Orchid Overnight blends the exclusivity of a superyacht with the comfort of a luxury hotel, creating a truly unique experience.”

Swapnil Patrikar, general manager for hospitality and business development at Dutch Oriental Megayachts, added: “Yas Marina was the natural choice for the Orchid Overnight. Its excellent facilities and prime location make it ideal for both Abu Dhabi and Dubai visitors.”

Dining experiences include full-board packages, 24-hour in-room dining, and chef-curated menus. Sundowner and dinner cruises will begin in October, while the yacht will also be available for private hire—ranging from weddings and corporate gatherings to full buyouts of all 31 rooms and suites.

The Orchid Overnight adds to the UAE’s growing collection of floating hotels, joining Dubai’s Queen Elizabeth 2 and future projects like the Kempinski Floating Palace.
