Dubai Police Explores the Future of Youth Capabilities in Operations

Dubai: Dubai Police, represented by the General Department of Operations and the Future Foresight Centre, organised a dialogue session titled “Shaping the Future of Youth Skills and Capabilities in the Operations Sector.”

The session brought together Brigadier Turki bin Faris, Director of the General Department of Operations; Lieutenant Colonel Omar Khalifa Balobaidah Al Suwaidi, Deputy Director of the Future Foresight Centre; representatives from Dubai Municipality, the General Directorate of Civil Defence, Dubai Air Navigation Services, du, e&, and young employees from the department.

The initiative aimed to empower youth and enhance their role in advancing operational systems, aligning with the wise leadership’s vision of foresight and creating an institutional environment driven by innovation and proactivity. The session focused on four main themes: the youth vision for developing operational work, proactive thinking in future operations, equipping young employees with future skills, and eliminating bureaucracy while improving performance efficiency.

Brigadier Turki bin Faris opened the discussion by stating: “At Dubai Police, we believe that future foresight is not a choice but a necessity dictated by the rapid global changes around us. Our young people have demonstrated their intellectual readiness and skill to play an active role in shaping the future of operations by embracing innovation and modern technologies. Supporting youth is an investment in the sustainability of security and efficiency, and we are committed to fostering an environment where they can not only participate but also lead and drive meaningful change.”

He praised the young participants for organising and managing the dialogue, noting that the session reflected their capabilities, enthusiasm for learning, and eagerness to apply their ideas. He also stressed the importance of joint efforts between government and private sector partners to achieve national objectives and build advanced operational models. He added that attracting and preparing young talent is a strategic step towards fulfilling the UAE Centennial 2071 vision and ensuring readiness for all future challenges.

Lieutenant Colonel Omar Khalifa Al Suwaidi highlighted the role of the Future Foresight Centre in providing sustainable platforms for knowledge exchange and encouraging out-of-the-box thinking. “Our mission is to equip young talents with future skills that enable them to handle tomorrow’s challenges and contribute to building institutions that are more flexible and innovative. Today’s session reflects the centre’s vision of embedding a culture of knowledge dialogue and proactive thinking within police institutions, empowering youth to participate in designing and shaping the future rather than remaining only as implementers,” he said.
