Dubai Police Academy Honours Top Cadets with Badges of Discipline and Merit
Dubai: Dubai Police Academy came alive with pride as 51 outstanding male and female cadets were celebrated under the “Thaber” programme, an annual initiative that recognises excellence in academics, military training, discipline, fitness, and marksmanship.

The ceremony was led by His Excellency Dr Major General Ahmad Zaal Bin Krishan Almuhairi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief for Financial and Administrative Affairs at Dubai Police, who personally awarded the coveted badges of discipline and merit to the high-achievers.

A Ceremony Full of Pride

The event began in the Academy’s main parade ground with a recitation from the Holy Quran. The distinguished cadets then marched into the field to be decorated by Major General Za’al. Senior figures also attended, including Brigadier Badran Al Shamsi, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Training and Academies, and Brigadier Dr Sultan Al Jamal, Director of Dubai Police Academy, along with faculty members, trainers, and officers.

Recognition for Excellence

The “Thaber” awards highlighted cadets who excelled in:
Academic performance
Behaviour and discipline
Military training
Physical fitness
Weapons proficiency and marksmanship

From among hundreds of cadets, 51 were singled out for their distinction.

Voices of Leadership

Major General Almuhairi praised the honoured cadets, describing their achievements as a reflection of their dedication and loyalty to the nation.

“The true bet is on a young generation capable of carrying national responsibility with sincerity and perseverance. Our Academy not only graduates academically excellent officers, but also nurtures future police leaders who are disciplined, knowledgeable, and ready to face challenges.”

Brigadier Dr Sultan Al Jamal also addressed the audience, explaining that the “Thaber” badges are far more than an award:

“These badges are symbols of pride and commitment. They represent a pledge of discipline and loyalty. Those who follow the leadership’s path achieve glory, those who uphold discipline are lifted high, and those who falter are left behind.”

He quoted His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai:

“Honouring is motivation, and motivation is positive energy that builds nations.”

“Thaber”

Launched as one of the Academy’s leading motivational initiatives, “Thaber” focuses on building a culture of perseverance and excellence. It encourages cadets to succeed academically, maintain discipline in the field, build strength through sport, master tactical and shooting skills, uphold values of service and ethics, and participate in community and volunteer work.

The programme not only raises academic and training standards but also creates a competitive, innovative environment that prepares cadets to represent Dubai Police Academy at both local and international levels.

A Message of Empowerment

In closing, Major General Almuhairi reaffirmed Dubai Police’s dedication to empowering its cadets: “Our mission is to prepare future leaders with knowledge, readiness, and discipline. These qualities are the true foundation of success and excellence.”
