Dubai ESC confirms readiness for \'Hatta Winter\'

Dubai: Dubai Police have confirmed that the Events Security Committee (ESC) has finalised all arrangements to secure the “Hatta Winter” activities, which will run from 5 to 28 December.

The event aims to transform Hatta into a distinctive tourism and development destination that brings together entertainment, culture, sport and community entrepreneurship.
Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazroui, Acting Assistant Commander in Chief for Operations at Dubai Police and Chairman of ESC, explained that Hatta is one of Dubai’s most prominent tourism destinations.

“Hatta is known for its diverse attractions, pleasant weather for most of the year, and rich environmental and recreational features supported by high quality services. It also enjoys strong cultural and heritage elements and a deep historical legacy. For these reasons, security and traffic programmes have been put in place to provide exceptional services for visitors and residents in the area“ he said.

Major General Al Mazroui noted that the committee has completed all preparations to secure “Hatta Winter,” ensuring safety and security for visitors around the clock. The plan is designed to present an image that reflects Dubai’s reputation and status and to reaffirm its leadership in hosting and organising major events.

Brigadier Mubarak Al Ketbi, Director of Hatta Police Station, stated that the station has finished its preparations in cooperation with partners in the area of jurisdiction. Two teams have been formed, one internal and one external. The internal team is responsible for securing the Hatta activities held at Al Wadi Park, the Honey Festival, the Agricultural Festival at Hatta Hall, Hatta Heritage Village, Hatta Hub and Leem Lake. The external team will manage traffic through the deployment of patrols, bicycle patrols and foot patrols. A dedicated police office has also been allocated at the main event site in coordination with Brand Dubai, the entity responsible for the activities.

He added that the station has played a major role in maintaining safety and security in the area of jurisdiction through the effective deployment of patrols. In recent years, no unknown cases have been recorded in either criminal or traffic fields, which reflects the success of the security and traffic programmes followed in the area.

Brigadier Al Ketbi also highlighted the readiness of the specialised “Brave Unit” for tourist security. The team is trained to deal with emergencies and rescue operations in mountainous areas and is fully equipped with modern tools and technologies to handle any incidents. He further pointed out that Dubai Police have established a Smart Police Station SPS in Hatta to provide innovative, smart policing services to the public.

Colonel Khalid Al Hammadi, Director of the Search and Rescue Department at the General Department of Transport and Rescue, explained that a comprehensive plan has been prepared to intensify the presence of transport and rescue vehicles and boats near Leem Lake, Hatta Hub, the heritage village and other key locations. Land and marine rescue patrols will be deployed to emphasise the importance of following public safety instructions, especially for users of water activities, and to respond swiftly to emergencies in order to enhance security and community happiness.

He added that patrols have been strategically positioned to respond to urgent cases, with all search and rescue equipment in place. The deployment includes three boats and eight land and marine rescue vehicles, in addition to qualified rescue divers whose duties include handling marine incidents, assisting visitors to dams, valleys and the lake, and carrying out other tasks. All teams are ready to serve members of the public twenty four hours a day.
