Indian Passport Service Fees Revised in UAE from July 1

Dubai: The Government of India has announced a significant increase in passport service fees for Indian nationals residing in the UAE. The revised fee structure will come into effect on July 1, 2026, the Consulate General of India in Dubai confirmed on Tuesday.

The updated charges will apply uniformly at the Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi, the Consulate General of India in Dubai, and all Indian Consular Application Centres (ICACs) operated by the new outsourced service provider across the UAE.

Under the revised fee schedule, a fresh or reissued 36-page passport will cost Dh450 under the normal processing category, compared to the previous fee of Dh285, while the Tatkaal (expedited) service will cost Dh900. A 60-page passport will be priced at Dh630 for normal processing and Dh1,080 under the Tatkaal scheme.

Applicants seeking replacement of lost or damaged passports will pay higher charges. The fee for a 36-page passport will be Dh900 under normal processing and Dh1,350 under Tatkaal. For a 60-page passport, the charges will be Dh1,080 and Dh1,530, respectively.

The revised rates follow the Indian government's broader initiative to standardise passport service charges across its diplomatic missions worldwide. This is the first revision of passport fees in 14 years, with the previous update having been introduced in 2012.

The government has also revised fees for minor applicants. A fresh or reissued 36-page passport for applicants below the age of 18 will now cost Dh325 under normal processing and Dh775 under the Tatkaal scheme. For lost or damaged passports, the fees will be Dh775 for normal processing and Dh1,225 under Tatkaal.

To encourage early registration, the government has introduced a 10 per cent discount on fresh passport applications for children up to 8 years of age, reducing the normal fee to Dh295 and the Tatkaal fee to Dh700. The discount, however, will not apply to passport reissue applications.

Fees for several miscellaneous consular services have also been revised. Police Clearance Certificates (PCCs), Surrender Certificates, and Global Entry Program verifications will now cost Dh145, up from Dh95. Emergency Certificates will be issued for Dh60, while Certificates of Identity will cost Dh180. These services are not available under the Tatkaal scheme.

The notification further clarifies that passports issued to applicants aged 18 years and above will remain valid for 10 years, while passports issued to minors will be valid for five years or until the holder reaches 18 years of age, whichever is earlier.

The revised passport fees do not include the service charges collected by the outsourced service provider or the Indian Community Welfare Fund (ICWF) contribution, both of which will be levied separately where applicable.

The fee revision coincides with the transition to a new outsourcing partner for Indian consular services in the UAE. From July 1, Alhind Tours and Travels LLC will officially handle passport, visa and consular application services across the Emirates.
