Dubai: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi held discussions with Abdulnasser Bin Kalban, CEO of Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA), focusing on strengthening cooperation in the aluminium sector and advancing industrial development in Odisha.

During the meeting, Chief Minister Majhi witnessed the exchange of technology transfer between NALCO (National Aluminium Company Limited) and Emirates Global Aluminium. The technology transfer has been proposed as part of NALCO’s planned expansion at Angul, Odisha.

The initiative is expected to strengthen NALCO’s technological capabilities and improve operational efficiency. It is also aimed at supporting the development of a more productive, sustainable and globally competitive aluminium industry in Odisha.

The proposed collaboration reflects Odisha’s efforts to adopt advanced technologies and strengthen its position as a major hub for aluminium production and value-added industries. The partnership between NALCO and EGA is expected to contribute to modernising operations and promoting sustainable growth in the state’s aluminium sector.

Chief Minister Majhi’s discussions with the EGA leadership are also seen as part of Odisha’s broader efforts to attract global expertise, technology and investment to accelerate industrial development in the state.
