Pakistan Champions Withdraw from World Championship of Legends 2026

Dubai: Pakistan Champions have withdrawn from the World Championship of Legends (WCL) Season 3 after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) upheld its decision to deny No-Objection Certificates (NOCs) to the team's players.

The withdrawal ends weeks of uncertainty over Pakistan's participation in the tournament, with the team unable to field its former international stars despite efforts to resolve the issue.

According to Geo Super, Pakistan Champions owner Kamil Khan had formally requested the PCB to reconsider its decision and had remained in discussions with the board over the team's participation. However, the PCB maintained its stance and did not issue the required NOCs.

Reports also suggested that the PCB had sought certain conditions linked to last year's controversy, which the WCL management did not accept.

In a statement, Pakistan Champions said it regretted its inability to participate in the ongoing tournament following the PCB's decision.

The team said it respected the PCB's authority and decision but was disappointed that its players would not get the opportunity to represent Pakistan Champions at the global gathering of cricketing legends. The team also thanked its players, supporters and fans for their patience and continued support.

Pakistan Champions were scheduled to play Bangladesh Champions in their opening match on October 3, but the fixture was postponed citing “technical reasons”. Their next match against Australia Champions, scheduled for October 6, was also cancelled.
