Dubai:A 6-year-old boy has overcome his fear of the police after receiving a surprise home visit and gifts from the Dubai Police. 

Colonel Ali Khalfan Al Mansouri, Acting Director of the General Department of the Community Happiness Department, said that an Arab family had approached Dubai Police and sought their assistance in helping their little boy to overcome fear of policemen and change the child's negative perception on the force. 

"We dispatched a specialized team from the Security Awareness Department accompanied with the policewoman "Amna", to entertain the little boy by gifting him with a tailored police uniform, and taking him in a ride around his neighbourhood in one of Dubai Police luxury patrols to left a positive impact on the little child," he explained. 

"Dubai Police, as per their community happiness strategy, have always been available to attend to the public’s needs, spread happiness, and promote a positive image of police officers who stand for fairness and justice,” “It is of great importance to us that the members of the society trust and contact us whenever they need our help, especially the children,” Col. Al Mansouri added. 

For their part, the child's family expressed their gratitude to Dubai Police for their prompt response. They also expressed their appreciation for the force's important role in ensuring the happiness of society.
