Dubai :Dubai Civil Defense (DCD) today said the Department of Preventive Safety processed 118,443 transactions in 2020 through its various channels, a 205% increase from 2019. The marked growth in transactions reflects DCD’s efforts to deliver the highest quality of customer service and integrate best practices as part of its objective of enhancing customer happiness.

His Excellency Brig. Expert Ali Hassan Almutawa, Assistant Director General for Fire and Rescue Affairs at Dubai Civil Defense, said the 2020 figures demonstrate the high priority DCD places on customer happiness and its endeavour to implement strategic plans that can enhance the community’s wellbeing. DCD’s Customer Happiness Centres reported 82,863 transactions, out of which 58, 888 were direct smart transactions and 19,323 were smart systems transactions. DCD also recorded a total of 14, 969 approved engineering transactions.

Brig. AlMutawa further said: “The record growth in transactions achieved last year reflects the vision of Dubai Government as well as DCD’s strategy to integrate its electronic and smart platforms to provide reliable, efficient and high-quality services that are highly accessible.” 

According to the latest figures, transactions related to approval requests submitted by companies reached 485 while 20,126 inspection-related transactions were recorded. 

The Department of Preventive Safety is tasked with implementing safety measures in residential, commercial and industrial buildings, and developing them according to efficiency and effectiveness standards; issuing and renewing licenses of private and public establishments as per rules and regulations; and conducting scheduled and surprise inspections for various establishments and factories to ensure compliance with safety measures.
