Dubai Police slashes Response Time to 2.39 minutes in Q1 of 2022

Dubai: The Dubai Police Command and Control Centre recorded a response time of 2.39 minutes to emergencies during the first quarter of 2022, when the target was six minutes, compared to 2.47 minutes during the same period last year.
The figures were recently revealed during a performance appraisal meeting chaired by His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, in the presence of Major General Ali Abdullah Al Ghaithi, Acting Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Operations Affairs; Major General Dr Muhammad Nasser Abdul Razzaq, Acting Director of the General Department of Operations; Major General Ahmed bin Ghalita, Director of Al Raffa Police Station; Brigadier Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah Al Mualla, Director of Excellence and Pioneering at Dubai Police; Colonel Turki Abdel Rahman Bin Faris, Acting Deputy Director of the General Department of Operations; Colonel Muhammad Al Muhairi, Acting Director of the Inspection and Control Department at Dubai Police, and several employees and officers.

During the meeting, officials of the Dubai Police Command and Control Centre revealed that during the third quarter of 2022, Dubai Police's emergency hotline 999 received 1,686,488 calls, of which %99.57 were answered within ten seconds, compared to 1,101,051 calls received during the same period last year.
Moreover, the average time for Dubai police patrols to reach emergency scenes was only 2.39 minutes, while the targeted response time was six minutes. Meanwhile, their response time for non-emergencies was 2.47 minutes, and the target was six minutes.

Furthermore, Lt. Gen. Al Marri also reviewed the statistics of the 901 call centre during the first quarter of 2022, where the total number of received calls reached 139,835 calls– of those, 90 % of which were answered within 20 seconds, compared to 130,363 calls answered within 20 seconds during the same period last year.
At the end of the meeting, Lt. Al Marri appraised the efforts exerted by the employees and officers of the Dubai Police Command and Control Centre and patrols in maintaining safety and security in jurisdiction areas. He also urged the public to understand the difference between 901 and the emergency hotline 999 and be more mindful of their calls to the hotlines.
