Dubai: The Dubai Foundation for Women and Children (DFWAC) has organized a series of events and activities to celebrate International Women's Day, observed globally on March 8th each year.

As part of this initiative, the foundation distributed awareness leaflets to Digital Dubai Authority employees and hosted an awareness session titled "The DFWAC Role in Supporting Victims of Domestic Violence, Child Abuse, and Trafficking" at Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Dubai International Academic City.

HE Sheikha Saeed Al Mansouri, Acting Director General of the foundation, underscored the importance of celebrating International Women's Day and lauded the Emirati approach to empowering women and boosting their potential.

She commended the country's leadership for leading the efforts to promote gender balance across a broad spectrum of sectors, including government representation, parliament, science, wages, business, leadership positions, sports, and social status. Al Mansouri emphasized that the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children's experience in safeguarding and empowering women stands as a testament to the country's unwavering commitment to upholding women's rights.

She added that Dubai has always been a strong supporter of women's empowerment, thanks to the unwavering support of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. He has been committed to strengthening women's position in areas such as education, health, housing, and social life.

On this occasion, Al Mansouri extended her warmest greetings to H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), the Mother of the Nation, and to all Emirati women, emphasizing that the nation's celebration of this occasion reflects the milestones made by Emirati women and their leading position.
