Dubai Police celebrate the Graduation of 922 Students from the Summer Courses Program

Dubai: His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdulla Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, Her Excellency Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Director General of Dubai’s Community Development Authority, and His Excellency Engineer Marwan bin Ghalita, Director General of Dubai Municipality, attended the graduation ceremony for 922 male and female students from the Dubai Police Summer Courses program.
This year’s program, themed “Our Summer: Security & Happiness... Innovation and Leadership,” was held in cooperation with the Emirates School Establishment, the Knowledge and Human Development Authority in Dubai, and the Dubai Sports Council
The graduation ceremony, held at the Dubai World Trade Centre, witnessed the presence of His Excellency Major General Ahmed Zaal Al Muhairi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police for Administrative and Financial Affairs; His Excellency Major General Harib Al Shamsi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief for Criminal Affairs; Her Excellency Amna Al Saleh, Acting Assistant Undersecretary of the Curriculum and Assessment Sector at the Ministry of Education, and His Excellency Saeed Harib, Secretary-General of the Dubai Sports Council. Additionally, the event was attended by several assistant commandants, directors of general departments and police stations, senior officers, and a group of parents.
Aware and Educated Generations
H.E. Lieutenant General Abdulla Khalifa Al Marri expressed pride in the remarkable performance of students in this year's summer program, praising their commitment and discipline throughout the courses. He stated, “The program welcomed 922 students who participated in various specialized courses offered by the Dubai Student Council at the International Hemaya Center.
Al Marri also acknowledged the crucial role of parents in motivating their children to utilize their free time effectively through programs and activities that foster personal development, enhance skills, build self-confidence, and instill a sense of responsibility.
The Commander-in-Chief highlighted Dubai Police's steadfast commitment to supporting students during the summer break, emphasizing the importance of cultivating disciplined, aware, and educated generations capable of positively addressing societal challenges. He noted that the programs provided by the International Hemaya Center are designed to align with the latest developments, meeting students' current and future needs.
H.E. Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid: Appreciated Efforts
Her Excellency Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid expressed her delight, stating, "Today, we are thrilled to participate in the closing ceremony of the annual summer courses organized by the Dubai Police, which saw a remarkable turnout of both male and female students. What makes this year especially noteworthy is the participation of students from 28 different nationalities. We extend our heartfelt thanks to those responsible for these summer programs and courses, praising their expertise in training students across diverse skills."
Building Individual Character
Meanwhile, Brigadier Khalid Bin Muwaiza, Director of the General Department of Anti-Narcotics, reaffirmed Dubai Police's unwavering commitment to supporting and organizing summer programs and activities for school students at the end of the academic year. He highlighted the positive impact these courses have on shaping students' characters, fostering a sense of belonging, and promoting respect for laws and regulations while instilling values such as courage, initiative, and dedication to serving the nation.
He remarked, "Building an individual's character requires years of concerted effort and collaboration among all entities in the educational system, alongside various government and semi-government institutions. Together, we can nurture a generation ready to lead in diverse fields and carry forward our legacy. This is why the International Hemaya Center in the General Department of Anti-Narcotics offers thoughtfully designed programs and courses that meet current needs and adapt to global developments, effectively preparing the next generation."
Harnessing Resources
Brigadier Dr. Abdul Rahman Sharaf Al Mamari, Director of the International Hemaya Center, underscored the center's commitment to launching a wide array of awareness, educational, and training programs for all segments of society, including students. He noted that the summer student program is a key program that the center focuses on developing each year. “The objective is to harness all available resources to support this program in ways that best serve students' interests and align with Dubai Police's strategic goal of enhancing community happiness
Various Activities
Brigadier Dr. Abdul Rahman Al Mamari highlighted the diverse activities in this year’s summer student program, which included 13 engaging initiatives catering to a wide range of interests. The program featured the Young Investigator Course, Diving, Swimming, Military and fitness training, Future Officer Programme, 901 Call Centre Training, K9 Police Dogs Course, Cycling Course, Horse Care Course, K9 Care and Welfare Programme, in addition to awareness lectures and field visits.
16 Training Centers
The Director of the International Hemaya Center indicated that this year's summer student program attracted a total of 1,332 students from 28 different nationalities. These students participated in training sessions and courses across 16 training centers, which included Hamdan Bin Rashid Secondary School for Boys, Zayed Educational Complex – Oud Al Muteena, Zayed Educational Complex – Al Warqaa, Hatta 1 Basic Education School, Zayed Educational Complex – Al Barsha North, Zayed Educational Complex – Al Barsha South, Asma Bint Al Noman Model School, and Rashid Bin Saeed Basic and Secondary School in Hatta. Additionally, specialized centers participated, including the General Department of Criminal Investigation, Mounted Police Station, 901 Call Centre, General Department of Protective Security and Emergency, General Department of Transport and Rescue, and the K9 Security Inspection Department.
Awareness Efforts Over 3 Years
Brigadier Dr. Abdul Rahman Al Mamari showcased the significant achievements of the International Hemaya Center over the past three years. He noted that 375,741 students from 175 different nationalities benefited from the year-round awareness programs and summer courses offered to public and private school students. “Throughout this period, 505 awareness programs were successfully conducted,” he added.
2024 Statistics
Brigadier Dr. Abdul Rahman Al Mamari shared the results of last year's summer courses, which attracted 1,136 students representing 31 nationalities. “This included 633 boys and 503 girls from 52 public schools and 29 private schools across 58 residential areas in Dubai. Among the participants, 816 were Emirati students and 320 were expatriate students, with training programs conducted at 21 training centers,” he added.
Gratitude and Appreciation
Brigadier Dr. Abdul Rahman Al Mamari thanked all strategic partners involved in the summer programs, underscoring their crucial contributions and unwavering support. “Their contributions have significantly enhanced the sustainability and development of these seasonal programs over the years. Additionally, they have significantly boosted participation at the International Hemaya Center and created an enriching environment for diverse programs,” he continued.The partnerships for these seasonal programs included 40 government and semi-government entities and various general departments within Dubai Police and police stations.
Students’ Performance
After the ceremony, students showcased their skills through military drills and formations featuring slow and moderate marches. Their impressive maneuvers drew enthusiastic applause from the audience. Attendees also enjoyed a film that highlighted the students' experiences during this year's summer courses.
Exhibition
Following the ceremony, attendees had the opportunity to explore an exhibition accompanying the graduation events. This exhibition featured 22 initiatives and projects that support the student programs run by the International Hemaya Center.
