Dubai: India maintained their unbeaten run in the Asia Cup Super Four stage with a 41-run victory over Bangladesh in Dubai. The win takes India two points clear at the top of the table and confirms Sri Lanka’s elimination after back-to-back defeats.

Pakistan and Bangladesh, who are both on two points, will face each other on Thursday in the decisive clash to determine India’s opponent in the final.

Batting first, opener Abhishek Sharma set the tone with his second successive half-century. He smashed 46 runs in the powerplay alone, dominating a rapid first-wicket stand with Shubman Gill. Sharma went on to score a brilliant 75 off 37 deliveries, striking six fours and five sixes, before being run out in the 12th over.

His wicket triggered a brief collapse as India slipped to 3-17 in 3.3 overs. However, Hardik Pandya steadied the innings with a crucial 38 from 29 balls, guiding India to a competitive total of 168-6.

In reply, Bangladesh’s chase was led by Saif Hassan, who hit 69 off 51 balls with five sixes. Despite his effort, he received little support from the rest of the batting lineup, with Parvez Hossain Emon (21) the only other player to reach double figures.

India’s bowlers tightened their grip on the game, with Kuldeep Yadav starring once again, claiming 3-18. Jasprit Bumrah and Varun Chakravarthy chipped in with two wickets each as Bangladesh were bowled out for 127 in the final over.
