Dubai: The third edition of the ‘Positive Spirit’ tennis tournament has kicked off at the Dubai Police Officers' Club, with wide participation from club members, in a sporting atmosphere that reflects Dubai Police's commitment to enhancing quality of life and physical fitness.

The tournament features the participation of 30 male players from the club, competing for the title of the third edition until the end of April. The tournament aims to establish sports as a lifestyle, promote positive interaction among members, and spread a culture of sports within a motivating and healthy work environment.

Major Adel Mohammed Hassan, Tournament Director, confirmed that organising this event is part of Dubai Police's strategy to promote a healthy lifestyle among its personnel. He noted that the tournament represents a practical model for integrating physical, psychological, and social aspects within the police work environment.

Maj. Adel added that the tournament helps build team spirit and enhance positive communication among members outside the formal work environment, which directly reflects on professional performance and institutional discipline. He emphasised that maintaining physical fitness is essential to support the readiness of personnel and enhance their ability to perform field duties efficiently.

Furthermore, he pointed out that the growing turnout in previous and current editions reflects the tournament's success in achieving its goals and highlights the importance of continuing to develop and expand it in the future.

The organising committee has allocated cash prizes for the first-place winner, in addition to recognising outstanding participants and all players in appreciation of their efforts and sportsmanship – contributing to the reinforcement of fair competition and discipline.
