Dubai: Dubai Sports Council (DSC) organized a workshop on “The Role of Technology in Developing Sports Talents”, as part of DSC’s strategy aiming to scout & boost sports talents and to attract private sector as an active partner in the sports development process.  The workshop also aimed to analyze & follow the performance of football talents in Dubai clubs.

The workshop was held in the presence of Mr. Ahmed Salem Al-Mahri, Director of the Sports Development Dept. in DSC, and several official persons of sports academies in Dubai clubs, football companies & private sports academies.

The workshop took place at DSC’s premises on Wednesday 1st March 2023 and it was addressed by Eng. Omar Al-Masri, Chairman of Talents Sports Co. / Dr. Steve Barrett, the holder of MA and PhD in Sports Science and Sports Exercises from the University of Hull in Britain, who serves as Director of Sports Science and Researching Innovation at the Playmaker Corporation, which deals with several prominent clubs in Europe; top of which are Manchester City & Fulham Clubs of England and Schalke from Germany, besides several sports teams from America. 

This fruitful workshop comprised two lectures on advanced technology and its role in scouting & boosting sports talents. The lecturers reviewed practical implementations for technology besides study for the case of talents identity in Europe & America through exploiting of advanced techniques, adopted by several prominent clubs in analysis of players performance during the game. 

The workshop is part of an integrated program to enhance football talents in Dubai clubs, including organization of workshop for Dubai clubs’ coaches on the analysis of the performance of players & matches / practical analysis for the performance of talented players in football for the age group from 14 to 18 years old / collecting data on football talents in Dubai clubs, starting from March 2023 until the end of the sports season, as a first stage, in addition to analyzing of players performance during training and official matches. The Play Maker Corporation will provide specialist of players’ technical & physical performance analysis. Players’ performance will be discussed & necessary development programs will be decided.
