Abu Dhabi: The BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi has received two prestigious accolades at the MEED Project Awards 2024 in association with Mashreq, held on November 20, 2024, at the JW Marriott Hotel in Dubai Marina, UAE. The Mandir was honored with the awards for Best Cultural Project in the UAE and Best Cultural Project in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), recognizing its architectural brilliance, cultural significance, and positive societal impact.

The MEED Project Awards, regarded as the gold standard in the MENA region since 2007, celebrate the best in engineering, innovation, and sustainability. This year’s ceremony brought together over 400 attendees, with 40+ nominees representing groundbreaking projects across the region. Categories ranged from Education and Energy to Cultural and Transport Projects, showcasing the diversity and excellence of MENA’s project landscape.
The BAPS Hindu Mandir Committee, along with their partners at Capital Engineering, attended the event to receive the awards. Speaking from India upon learning of the award, Pujya Brahmavihari Swami, The Head of the BAPS Hindu Mandir emphasized the profound significance of the recognition:

BAPS have constructed over 1600 Temples globally, but the intricacies and unique features of the BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi are iconic and historic, and we are proud to say the UAE is its home."

Judged on criteria such as engineering and design, technological innovation, project impact, and sustainability, the Mandir stood out for its meticulous craftsmanship, innovative approach, and dedication to fostering peace. The project has set a benchmark for cultural and community initiatives in the region, becoming a symbol of harmony and inclusivity.
