Abu Dhabi: The second Emirati relief aid ship left Jebel Ali Port in the UAE, heading to Beirut Port, carrying a load of 3,000 tons of various relief materials, as part of the community campaign "The Emirates is with you, Lebanon", which was launched at the beginning of last October.

The UAE continues its various relief aids by air and sea, in implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, and with the follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, and the supervision of His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development Affairs and Martyrs' Families, Chairman of the International Humanitarian Affairs Council. The UAE relief aid included various types of food supplies, supplies for children and women, and various winter equipment.

His Excellency Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for International Development and Organizations Affairs and Member of the International Humanitarian Affairs Council, stressed that the UAE will continue its pioneering global relief role, following the humanitarian legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God bless his soul, towards standing with his fellow man everywhere and at all times, which is evident in what the UAE provides to all humanity alike, with the great interest of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, and His Highness’s keenness to provide relief materials and all shelter requirements to those affected from the brotherly Lebanese people in light of the current difficult and critical circumstances that the region is going through.

His Excellency pointed out that the UAE relief aid ship is the second to carry various relief supplies from UAE donor agencies, humanitarian institutions and charitable associations, noting that it is expected to arrive at Beirut port at the end of this month.
