Dubai: His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdulla Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, affirmed that the United Arab Emirates commemorates the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan each year, honouring his contributions and achievements that strengthened values of giving and humanitarian solidarity. 

“Sheikh Zayed’s enduring impact on the UAE, the Arab world, and the international community is reflected in his humanitarian initiatives, which transcended geographical and cultural boundaries, making charitable work and helping others a way of life in both words and actions,” Al Marri said in a statement. 

A Day to Celebrate Giving and Humanitarian Values

Al Marri stated: “The 19th of Ramadan each year is a significant occasion for both citizens and residents of the UAE to reflect on the values and principles instilled by Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan in our society. This day is a testament to the UAE’s continued commitment to expanding the scope of humanitarian giving across all levels; whether through aid during crises and disasters or sustainable projects aimed at education, healthcare, and socio-economic development.”

Sustaining the UAE’s Humanitarian Legacy

Al Marri emphasised that the UAE’s leadership remains dedicated to following Sheikh Zayed’s path, ensuring that humanitarian efforts remain an integral part of the nation’s foreign policy while also fostering humanitarian values within Emirati society.

He added: “Zayed Humanitarian Day serves as a moment of reflection and celebration of the values Sheikh Zayed instilled in his people. It is a continuous call to renew hope, reinforce generosity, encourage collaboration, and promote global solidarity. Sheikh Zayed’s name will remain engraved in history as a symbol of boundless humanity, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of future generations.”
