Dubai: The Dubai Police's Humanitarian Care Section, in cooperation with partners, provided AED 6,599,116 in financial and in-kind assistance to male and female inmates at the General Department of Punitive and Correctional Establishments during the first half of 2025.

His Excellency Major General Marwan Abdul Karim Julfar, Director of the General Department of Punitive and Correctional Establishments, commended the humanitarian efforts of philanthropists, charitable organizations, and associations. He emphasized that financial assistance reflects the deep sense of solidarity, tolerance, and connection within Emirati society, highlighting the commitment of individuals and institutions to support inmates and offer them another chance to rebuild their lives.

Maj. Gen. Julfar lauded the invaluable contributions of civil society organizations, the private sector, and philanthropists who selflessly dedicate their time and resources to serve others. He acknowledged their commitment to providing essential support for inmates, aiming to alleviate their suffering and inspire positive behavioral changes while uplifting their spirits.

He also commended the Humanitarian Care Department team for their steadfast dedication to delivering comprehensive support to both male and female inmates.

Furthermore, Maj. Gen. Julfar mentioned that the financial assistance benefited inmates by addressing overdue rent, supporting inmates' financial needs, covering travel tickets, providing health supplies, paying educational fees, and funding humanitarian initiatives that brought joy to inmates on several occasions.
